Maeve Smith is a Master’s Student in the Arcaro lab studying Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Science in the accelerated degree program. Maeve completed her undergraduate studies at UMass Amherst, obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, with a concentration in biotechnology and research. Maeve has been a member of the Arcaro lab since her Junior year of college and has worked on an array of projects. Currently, she is helping to write a paper from her research project where she studied the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 in the breastmilk of Black women, a group under-represented in SARS-CoV-2 milk studies. In her time outside of the lab, Maeve enjoys cooking new recipes, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with family, friends, and pets.
