This course is a 1 credit discovery-based research tutorial experience emphasizing cellular and molecular approaches. Students will be responsible for submitting an abstract to their faculty sponsor detailing their work on Science Day at the end of the spring semester. Students should meet with their potential faculty sponsor to discuss whether there are open positions, projects available, and how many hours of work in the lab or facility and outside are expected. The completed Biotech Research contract should be emailed by the faculty sponsor to mschneider [at] vasci.umass.edu (Mary Schneider) to be enrolled.

Sponsoring faculty will be responsible for ensuring that biotech research experience students attend the necessary lab and fire safety, biohazard safety, animal care, and other applicable training classes.
