Sam Andrewes

Sam Andrewes received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his Master's degree from the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst He studied head and body lice and their vectoring capabilities for transmitting deadly bacterial diseases. He looked at the proliferation effects of Bartonella quintana (causative agent for trench fever) in the louse gut and the expression of certain immune genes relating to the differences in the bacterial harboring abilities between the two louse species.
