Ori graduated from Regis College in May of 2022 with a B.S. in Biology. She worked in the Regis College Zebrafish lab with Dr. Gray in addition to working in the zebrafish lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston with Dr. Buys. During her senior year at Regis College, Ori also worked with Dr. Hogan and a team of senior undergraduate students to develop a stage two diagnostic for Ovarian Cancer.
Outside of academics, Ori played soccer and tennis all four years and served as Vice President of the Student Athletic Academic Council (SAAC) and as Treasurer for the Class of 2022. She was an ITA scholar athlete for four years and an Academic All-GNAC recipient for three consecutive years. She is a recipient of the Leadership in Athletics Award and the Senior Leadership and Service Award from Regis College’s Division of Student Affairs.
Ori is an incoming graduate student for the Fall of 2022 in the Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences program. Ori is currently a master’s degree student, and she intends to pursue her PhD in Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences. Ori will be working in Dr. Telfer’s lab during her time at UMass Amherst. Ori’s interests include research in the fields of cancer and genetics. She believes she has the potential to play a large role in contributing to the treatment of cancer and genetic disease to improve the lives of humans and animals.
