Mahboubeh Taghavi

Mahboubeh is a PhD candidate in the Animal Biotechnology and Biomedical Science program at UMass. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, majoring in Biology- Zoology. Mahboubeh graduated from Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, Iran, with a B.S. in Medical Parasitology. Mahboubeh has worked for five years in a clinical reproductive laboratory. Her expertise includes molecular biology and biochemistry together with her experience in the manipulation of sperm, eggs and embryos. Now as a PhD student at UMass Amherst, she is studying reproductive biology in Dr. Pablo Visconti’s research lab. Under the direction of Dr. Pablo Visconti, she will conduct research in sperm metabolic pathways and its relevance for assisted reproductive technologies.
