Jacqueline Lamentea
Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Arcaro Lab
Jacqueline Lamentea is a senior Pre-Veterinary student at UMass. Jacqueline has been in the Arcaro lab as an undergraduate student for 3 semesters. Her passion for cell culture was first cultivated when she took Dr. Arcaro’s veterinary oncology laboratory. It was there that Jacqueline learned the fundamentals of cell culturing and aseptic technique. The following semester, she joined Dr. Arcaro’s lab to deepen her expertise in laboratory techniques, eventually sharing her knowledge with fellow undergraduates on her team.
Jacqueline’s research centers on the effects of chronic inflammation on DNA methylation, with broader interests in cell culturing and epigenetics. Jacqueline plans to attend veterinary school this fall while continuing to engage in projects related to cancer and epigenetics. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys gardening and hiking with her dog, Bear.
