Eliza Mayo
Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Arcaro Lab
Eliza Mayo is a senior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology student from Plymouth, Massachusetts and a member of the Commonwealth Honors College. Eliza joined the Arcaro Lab in the spring of 2023, where she began working on the New Moms Wellness Study. Her honors thesis focuses on measuring c-reactive protein levels in breast milk in response to diet intervention, a project for which she was awarded an honors research grant and participated in the 2024 Environmental Health Summer Fellowship.
Beyond research, Eliza is a General Chemistry Peer Led Team Leader, a senior board member for the UMass Ski and Board Club, and an ESL conversation partner for the Amherst Library. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and skiing.
