Angelina graduated from UMass Amherst with a BS in Pre-Veterinary Science in Spring 2023. During her senior year, she enrolled in Research Animal Management and Vertebrate Embryology, both of which piqued her interest in research. This led her to join the ABBS program in Fall 2023. Since joining the Alfandari lab, she has acquired several fundamental research skills and works closely with Xenopus laevis (African clawed frog). Currently, she is learning about the process of monoclonal antibody production, as well as how to facilitate Xenopus growth from embryo to adulthood.

When she is not in school, Angelina spends time working as a veterinary assistant in the ER/ICU of a small animal emergency hospital, where she helps with treatments, bloodwork, lab work, pre-/post-op care, procedures, and much more. She also loves to bake, petsit, go on annual Cape Cod trips, and hang out with friends, family, and her 2-year-old cat, Piper.

Angelina very much enjoyed her undergraduate experience in the VASCI department. She would especially like to thank her professors/mentors, Dr. Dominique Alfandari, Dr. Nuno Carreiro, and Dr. Hélène Cousin, all of whom have had a meaningful impact on her academic career.
