Welcome to the UMass Amherst University Without Walls Department of Interdisciplinary Studies!

Our required fall 2026 new student orientation will walk you through what to expect and address any questions or concerns you have. For your convenience, we offer the orientation in two virtual formats on different dates.

And if you live nearby, our optional fall 2026 open house will allow you to connect with your faculty advisor, academic advisor, and fellow students in person during the second week of classes.
