UWW Interdisciplinary Studies Pass/Fail Petition
A student may petition to select pass/fail grading for one required UWW Interdisciplinary Studies course by completing the following steps.
- The student must confirm that the course is not being taken for a general education requirement. UWW 305 is a general education course with the “I” for interdisciplinary. UWW 370 is a general education course, as it carries the Junior Year Writing designation. Finally, the reflections courses (UWW 310, 320, 330, 340, 350, and 360) are all integrative experience (IE) courses, and every student is required to take one IE course. Most students need the general education components of these courses, so only the second reflections course can be considered under this policy.
- The student must document the reasons for the request to take the course pass/fail. Concern over academic performance in the class or impact on GPA are not sufficient reasons by themselves. The student must have other reasons to engage in this petition.
- The student must submit the form below along with any relevant documentation. The petition is reviewed by the faculty member of the course, the academic advisor, and the Chief Undergraduate Advisor.
