Introduction to Electronics & Arduino

Calling all makers! Inspired by the Maker movement, students will learn and practice the skills needed to build creative hardware projects of their own design.

Beginning with the basics of circuitry and electronic diagrams, we will study several components commonly used in electronics, combining them in different ways through labs designed for hands-on learning. Once we have covered the basics, students will design and build a creative hardware project of their own creation using an Arduino microcontroller.

This course is intended for students with some prior programming experience, though specific experience with Arduino is not expected or required.

This course is offered at the UMass Amherst campus as a residential program. Local students may apply to attend as a commuter.
