Meet UWW's 2024 Student Commencement Speakers

We are proud to introduce the 2024 University Without Walls Interdisciplinary Studies student speakers. They will deliver their addresses during the UWW Senior Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, May 18 at 5 p.m. in Tillis Hall at the Bromery Center for the Arts on the campus of UMass Amherst. 

Daisy Ash is a professional organizer and world traveler. Originally from Washington state and now living in New Orleans, this thirty-year-old First Generation college graduate is celebrating earning her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business Development and Integrative Wellness and a UWW Academic Achievement award. After graduation, she looks forward to pursuing an MBA in project management and a graduate certification in community development. Daisy is a two-time departmental scholarship winner. Prior to attending UMass Amherst, she graduated with honors from Seattle Central College with an associate degree in psychology and an equity and social justice emphasis. Joining her to celebrate are her godmother Sue and her friends Roslyn and Oba.

Lysianne Audet Jones is a pharmaceutical medical device sales representative with Insulet in the Boston area. Having managed her own type 1 diabetes for twenty-five years and engaged in advocacy with organizations like JDRF, she calls her new diabetes-focused role in the life science industry “a dream come true.” Originally from Montréal in Québec, Canada, this thirty-seven-year-old mother of two is celebrating earning her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health and Business Administration and a UWW Academic Achievement award. Lysianne hopes to pursue a master of business administration from UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management with a focus in healthcare administration. Joining her to celebrate are her mother Renée, her husband Mitch, and her two children Ayden and Liam.
