Pass Fail Policies Announced for Spring 2021

UMass Amherst has issued new pass/fail guidelines for spring 2021. Key points for courses up through level 500 include:

• All Letter Grading only courses will continue to be offered as Letter Grading with Pass/Fail option.
• Students will be allowed to select Pass/Fail grading for up to three courses until Tuesday, May 4.
• [Please note: To elect Pass/Fail or Revoke Pass/Fail, click the down arrow on the Other Academic drop-down list to the left of your Class Schedule on the SPIRE Student Center.]
• The current University policies restricting usage of Pass/Fail courses for satisfaction of major, School/College, and University requirements including the General Education and Writing curriculum will be suspended for the Spring 2021 semester.
