UMassGives April 29–30
UMassGives is happening now! Held Wednesday, April 29 through Thursday, April 30, UMassGives is the university’s two-day online giving campaign.
Each semester we receive dozens of scholarship applications from nontraditional students in need, who face countless challenges as they work toward their degree. The need is great, but we only have funds to award scholarships to a fraction of students. This is where we need your help.
As we celebrate our 55th anniversary, alumni, friends, faculty, and staff are pulling together as a community to support our students. All funds we raise during UMassGives 2026 (except those designated for other specific scholarships) will bolster the new UWW Completion Fund, established in December to help students who have left college due to financial pressures and unanticipated circumstances return to UMass Amherst to complete their bachelor’s degrees. With your help, students will complete their degrees, celebrate with their families at graduation, and use those degrees to make the world a better place.
A 55-Year Tradition Tradition of Giving Back
Our communal spirit of compassion and generosity has supported UWW students for 55 years. Now it’s time to pay it forward and help the next generation of UWW students access higher education, break barriers, and achieve their goals.
Your Gift Matters
We need your help to make this strong foundation of support for nontraditional students a reality. So give what you can, and know that a gift of any amount—no matter how big or how small—will make a difference.
If you give during UWW’s Power Hour on Wednesday, April 29 from NOON to 1:00 p.m., your gift will have the greatest impact, helping us win up to $27,500 in bonus funding:
- Up to $2,000 based on our ranking in the Power Hour!
- A matching gift from Stephen Sleigh ’86 for the first $500 donated!
- If we reach 100 unique gifts during UMassGives, Alice Szigethy ’24 will make a $25,000 gift!
We cannot thank you enough for your support. Your gift will make a real difference in the lives of financially vulnerable nontraditional students.
Volunteer as a UMassGives Ambassador
Your mission as a UMassGives Ambassador will be simple: to get as many family and friends as you can to give a gift online during UMassGives—preferably during the Power Hour. The ambassadors who recruit the most unique UMassGives donors will earn no-cost Red Sox tickets to UMass Amherst at Fenway on June 3, which include the opportunity to join us on the field for the pre-game ceremony! Email Siobhan Henderson at @email to get more information and accept the challenge!
