Every adult student has a story. What's your story?
I am the first in my family to attend college. I have overcome many obstacles along the way to get here. I continue to attend school and persevere to create a better life for myself and to be to apply what I have learned to serving in my work.
What does winning this scholarship mean to you?
It will allow me to attend college with less financial burden and debt. This is a huge help!
What is the best part about being a UWW Interdisciplinary Studies student?
The flexibility to attend school online and to be able to choose my area of concentration.
How do you balance work, school, and other responsibilities?
Keeping a schedule for school, work and other activities has been key to managing my time. I regularly make choices of what's most important to me. I plan to spend time with friends or family in the evenings and weekends. Currently, I am self-employed, which allows me to set my own schedule and work it around school and other responsibilities.
What are your plans for the future—professionally and personally?
I plan to continue to lead coaching classes and eventually retreats. I would also like to continue to travel as much as possible, as I believe that travel has provided some of the best educational experiences I have had. Down the road, I would like to help create a community space for personal classes, workshops, skill share, and retreats.
