The University of Massachusetts Amherst

Government Relations

The Office of Government Relations is headed by the executive director of public and constituent relations and housed in Boston. We advocate for the interests of the university in the commonwealth’s legislative and executive branches of government and cultivate productive relationships with state leaders.

Our office is the university’s primary voice among state legislators and policy makers. We communicate about campus issues with state legislators and relevant executive-branch members and respond to any campus-related recommendations or concerns they might have.

Our executive director is also charged with raising the profile of and gaining support for the flagship campus in Boston.
