Advocating for UMass Amherst in the Commonwealth

The Office of Government Relations is headed by the associate vice chancellor of Government Relations and is housed in Boston. We advocate for the interests of the university in the commonwealth's state and federal legislative and executive branches of government and cultivate productive relationships with those leaders.

Our office is the campus’s primary voice and point of contact for federal and state legislators and policymakers. Our associate vice chancellor is also charged with raising the profile of and gaining support for the flagship campus in Boston.
