Waitlists

Some classes offer automated waitlists in SPIRE while others do not - the decision is up to the department offering the class. If you find, during registration, that a class you are interested in is full, you are advised to enroll yourself onto the automated waitlist, if one exists, or wait until the start of the term approaches to see if new spaces are available.

If you want to enroll yourself onto a SPIRE waitlist, select the "OK to waitlist" checkbox when it appears.

Here are some things you should know:

• You must meet all eligibility requisites to be enrolled in a class from a waitlist if a seat becomes available.
• If you are already enrolled in a different section of the course while on a waitlist, you will not be switched into your waitlisted section if a seat becomes available.
• You will be assigned a position number on the waitlist but this indicates a possibility, not a promise, that you will be enrolled in the class.
• If you are seeking admission to a full class after classes start, you should contact the instructor to request that written permission be sent to the Registration office at @email.
