How to Change Your Major

If you are currently active in one of our degree programs and would like to change to another one of our degree programs, you will need to obtain approval from both the department that you are leaving AND the department that you are joining. 

Please contact both departments and request that emails be sent to the Registration Office at @email from each departmental designee's UMass email address.  Emails should include: Your Name, SPIRE ID,  New and old program, Degree, and name off the departmental assignee.

Once all approvals have been received by the Registration Office, a change of major will be processed in SPIRE.
