The Director for Issues Management is a thought partner to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Issues Management and plays a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and addressing various challenges or crises that could impact the institution. This position is an expert in developing and deploying content, effective communications, and risk mitigation measures to support ongoing priorities related to sensitive matters impacting the University. This position is a strategic thinker and brings a passion for working in crisis management, risk assessment, a coordinated approach to problem solving, and a strong ability to ensure that communication during crises is clear, accurate, and timely.
The Social Media Specialist develops and markets information to highlight the achievements of the campus and the members of its community, employing multi-media skills to communicate news and events. A primary focus is advancing the university’s profile and public engagement through compelling storytelling on social media outlets.
The position requires research skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of audiences, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, public officials, alumni, donors and the press. The Social Media Specialist must perform independently and as a team member, exercising sound judgment under deadline conditions. The job requires being available outside of normal business hours as needed, and participating in an on-call rotation on nights, weekends and holidays to post timely social media and web content.
The Assistant Director of University Events is responsible for the strategic and logistical management of high visibility campus events. Ensures all events promote a positive image of the campus and reflect the brand, values, and culture. Regularly interacts with constituents and campus colleagues. Provides event planning expertise and oversees details and execution of multiple programs and events simultaneously in a fast paced environment. This position requires a high degree of independent decision-making and sound judgment.
