Office Watch is a program that helps prevent theft on campus. It focuses on thefts from buildings within the academic area. It emphasizes property security, and accountability within academic buildings. Full-time, part-time, and student employees are encouraged to not let people enter their areas unchecked. All university employees should ask unknown people who they are, and what they are doing in office and academic areas.
In this program, UMPD Outreach Officers help create a more secure work environment through office design advice and security surveys. This program also teaches everyone to be accountable for personal and work equipment by not leaving it unattended in areas where a thief could possibly steal it.
