Description: Established to provide one or more scholarships for an entering freshman with demonstrated financial need with first preference for students from the Metro West Communities of Ashland, Framingham, Marlborough, Natick, Southborough, or Westborough or, secondarily, from the City of Boston in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Further, the purpose of this fund is to increase and enhance the overall diversity of the student body of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and provide access for those students who have been historically under-represented for race, ethnicity, gender, and economic reasons.

Scholarship Legacy Information: This scholarship fund was established by Russell and Loris Hill, in memory of their son Todd. Todd R. Hill ’90 majored in Legal Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity--serving at the national level on the Student Advisory Committee. Todd was Vice President of the African American Students Association and Task Force Leader of the University Council. He attended public schools in Framingham, MA where he was a multi-sport athlete. Todd, an Account Executive for QRS Corporation, a California-based, e-commerce firm, was a victim of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.
