International Primate Protection League (IPPL)

IPPL is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the world’s remaining primates, great and small. Since 1973 we have worked to expose primate abuse and battled international traffickers. We also operate a sanctuary for gibbons (the smallest of the apes) in South Carolina and support primate rescue efforts worldwide, especially in countries where primates are native.

Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, they have been pioneering market-driven financial solutions to the global water crisis for more than 25 years, giving women hope, children health and communities a future.

Nonhuman Rights Project, the

We work to secure fundamental rights for nonhuman animals through litigation, legislation, and education. To change the common law status of great apes, elephants, dolphins, and whales from mere “things,” which lack the capacity to possess any legal right, to “legal persons,” who possess such fundamental rights as bodily liberty and bodily integrity.

Contemplative Mind in Society

The Center for Contemplative Mind in Society (CMind) transforms higher education by supporting and encouraging the use of contemplative/introspective practices and perspectives to create active learning and research environments that look deeply into experience and meaning for all in service of a more just and compassionate society.
