HEVY is a non-profit organization that provides health and education benefits to disadvantaged children living in Vietnam. We seek to identify children who would benefit from life changing medical treatment from the Shriners Hospital in Springfield and Boston. Shriners Hospital is one of the world’s leading centers for pediatric burn care specializing in corrective surgical treatment for children who have suffered traumatic and disabling birth defects, injury and burns. HEVY was started by Thomas Mathers, retired UMass Amherst Bursar and Glenn Hartmann, current UMass Amherst Assistant Controller.
