The Center has worked for more than 40 years to protect and promote equality and opportunity for women and families. We champion policies and laws that help women and girls achieve their potential at every stage of their lives — at school, at work, at home, and in retirement. Our staff are committed advocates who take on the toughest challenges, especially for the most vulnerable women.
The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is the only rape crisis center in the Greater Boston area and the oldest and largest center in Massachusetts. Our vision is to end sexual violence through healing and social change.
We raise funds to create access and opportunities for women and girls in Western Massachusetts through research, capacity building, and giving women and girls the tools to be champions of their own lives and of their community. We are proud of our partnership with UMass School of Public Policy to run our popular LIPPI program.

V-Day is a global grassroots movement to end all forms of violence against women and girls spanning over 140 countries. Through art and activism, V-Day supports safe houses, grassroots anti-violence work and awareness campaigsn.
