Education: M.S., nutrition and M.S., clinical health psychology, Bastyr University, Kenmore, Wash.; Master’s level internships in nutrition and mental health, Bastyr Center for Natural Health, Seattle, Wash., and in mental health counseling, Evergreen State College Health and Counseling Center, Olympia, Wash.; B.S., food and nutrition and B.S., biology, Loyola University Chicago, Chicago, Ill.

Professional Background: More than a decade of experience as a nutritionist, clinical dietitian and diabetes educator, in settings including acute care hospitals, a university athletic center and a community-based family health center. My background includes integrative nutrition and counseling, wellness and health promotion, diabetes management, teaching and research.

More About Me: I love to be outdoors, especially near mountains and water. I enjoy running, cycling, swimming and hiking, and have completed three triathlons so far. Other favorite pastimes include cooking, gardening, and learning.

Jana Lussier
Jana Lussier

LeAnn Martin, RDO is a licensed board-certified optician in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She holds national certifications with the ABO and NCLE.  LeAnn has worked for over twenty years in various retail and clinical settings including ophthalmology.

She puts in many hours of continuing education, which allows her to be current on lens and frame technology, along with the newest treatments of eye pathologies.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family at concerts and sporting events.

A licensed, board-certified dispensing optician in Massachusetts for more than 20 years, Shelley has an extensive background in all aspects of the eye care industry. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including ophthalmology and has experience with fabrication, design, fit, dispensing of corrective eye wear, contact lenses, and diseases of the eye.

Shelley carries certifications with the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners, and spends many hours throughout the year keeping continuing education current with the latest in lens and frame technology, contact lenses, disease, and complications of the eye.

Prior to joining UHS, Shelley provided services through Valley Medical Group. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and following their many sporting events.
