UHS is a fully accredited health center offering a wide variety of health care services, including:
Flu Shots. UMass Amherst faculty, staff and students can get vaccinated by appointment at UHS, or during a scheduled visit, Monday-Friday. Call 413-577-5101 to schedule. Costs are billed to your health insurance; bring your insurance ID card with you. We have a limited supply of high-dose vaccine available for patients over age 65.
General Medical Care. Primary care, illness and injury care are available at UHS. We have an onsite lab and radiology department, plus physical therapy, sexual health, women's health, transgender health, tobacco treatment, urgent care, travel medicine, and more! Acupuncture. Acupuncture focuses on reestablishing balance in the body, calming the nervous system, and providing a sense of peace and quiet. Acupuncture is used in treatment of anxiety and depression, insomnia, headaches, digestive discomforts, pain, and more. Eye Care and Optical Services. UHS Eye Care Services is your one-stop source for high-quality, personalized, affordable vision care, serving faculty, staff and students of the Five Colleges. Services include complete eye examinations and emergency care; eyewear for everyday, fashion, sports, and work; on-site lens lab, for same- or next-day service on most prescriptions and eyewear; contact lens specialists, online lens orders, and more! Occupational Health. Occupational health services at UHS help UMass Amherst employees stay healthy on and off the job. We offer animal handler screenings, asbestos screenings, commercial driver's exams, police and firefighter's exams, and much more. Pediatrics. If you've got kids, you know the importance of great pediatric care. You also know that juggling work or school with medical appointments isn't easy. That's where UHS comes in! Our pediatric and family practice specialists care for the children of UMass Amherst faculty, staff and students at our convenient campus location. Services we provide include routine visits, sick visits, immunizations, hearing and vision screenings, developmental and behavioral visits, and adolescent gynecological visits. Insurance and Billing

- Patient Accounts/Billing: Contact us with specific insurance/billing questions. Call 413-577-5256.
- Primary Care and Referrals: Patients insured by a health maintenance organization (HMO) which requires primary care provider (PCP) referrals must obtain one for care at UHS. When scheduling an appointment, you'll be reminded of this requirement and asked to provide your PCP's name and address. To avoid having to get a referral, consider switching your PCP designation to a UHS provider. To change your PCP to a UHS provider, call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask about transferring to UHS.
