Prior to joining UHS, he was a member of the hospitalist program at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass.; his background also includes work in emergency, family and inpatient medicine, and as a clinical instructor for programs in California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Vermont. He is a published author, researcher and presenter, and inventor of a patented device which recaps hypodermic needles.
