Parking
Parking Services strives to provide safe, consistent, and fair parking for
all employees, students, and visitors to campus. Vehicles may park in the pay
facility, the Campus Center visitor Parking Garage, or use pay-meters located
at various sites around campus. Permits are required in all other University
of Massachusetts parking lots from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
After 5 p.m and on weekends, anyone may park in non-reserved lots. Parking without
the appropriate permit is never allowed in handicapped spaces, resident staff
or state vehicle spaces, fire lanes, access lanes or 24-hour reserved lots.
Parking permits may be purchased at Parking Services, located in Lot 25, near
the Mullins Center. Parking Services maintains wait lists for all parking lots
except Yellow Lot, as proximity parking may be limited. All valid permit holders
are allowed to designate a closer lot for which they qualify and to remain on
the wait list until reassignment, as long as they maintain a valid parking permit.
Parking Services also encourages students and employees to consider alternative
modes of transporation to and from campus by hosting the University's transportation
alternative Program (TAP). This program highlights alternatives to single occupancy
vehicle commuting, including carpooling, bicycling, transit, pedestrian access,
and telecommuting.
All vehicles must comply with the University's published parking regulations,
which are available at Parking Services. For more information, visit the Parking
Services Web site at: www-parking.admin.umass.edu or call 545-0065.
