Where to Park

Use our interactive Parking Map to identify metered parking spots, the Campus Center Parking garage and other locations.

Visitor Parking Options

  • Park at a metered parking space. (Certain lots have parking meter paystations.) Cost is $1.60/hour. Meters are enforced from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Park at the Campus Center Parking Garage: $1.85/hr.
  • Buy a One-Day Temporary Parking Pass: $8.00/day from Parking Services.
  • Long-term (multi-day) parking passes are also available from Parking Services.

Garage Parking

The Campus Center Parking Garage is available to the university community on an hourly basis, The rate is $1.85/hr and is open 24/7. The Lower Garage is reserved access, permit required.  Reserved permits are available for purchase at Parking Services.

The Upper Garage entrance (Levels 2 - 6)  is located on 91 Campus Center Way. Enter on Level 3 and exit on Level 4. Clearance is 7' 2".

The Lower Garage entrance (Level 1) is located on Campus Center Service Rd. Clearance is 13' 5". 

Parking Services sells a pre-paid garage key card in increments of $5-$50. Visit our office to purchase.

 

Students and Employees

Permits are required to park on campus. Permits are available for purchase from Parking Services. The permit year is from September 1 to August 31. Electric Vehicles

UMass is part of the Chargepoint EV network with nearly a dozen charging locations on campus. Please visit the Chargepoint site for pricing information.

Winter Parking

Overnight parking is prohibited in most lots from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. from December 1 through April 1, REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS, and at other times of predicted measurable snowfall. In addition, parking is prohibited during SNOW EMERGENCY CLOSINGS. The Emergency Closing Policy and Parking Snow Policy, issued yearly, are the references for parking during snow season and snow emergency closings. Vehicles parked in lots designated as No Parking during snowstorms are subject to citations and towing.

 

*Vehicles cannot park nor travel in pedestrian only areas on the UMass Amherst campus. If you need vehicle access to a pedestrian area to load or unload or for other University business, contact your campus sponsor. Your campus sponsor will request a permit for you.
