Since 2020, editions of these workshop series have educated almost 800 Massachusetts public school staff on the foundational skills of interpreting and translation.

In Spring 2024, the Translation Center opens the workshop series to all professionals. A certificate is awarded upon successful and timely completion of the series.

Interpreter and Translator in Education (30 hours)

• Covers the foundations, standards, and procedures for the provision of language access.

Seven Thursdays, 4:00-6:00 pm, synchronous + asynchronous tasks

Interpreting for Special Education (45 hours)

• Aims to better equip interpreters to provide effective services during special education meetings.

Eight Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 am, synchronous + asynchronous tasks

• February start dates
• Led by seasoned professionals with teaching experience
• Recorded presentations with synchronous meeting time
• Practice assignments with feedback
• One workshop per series open to participant's colleagues, and much more!
