Chen was hired by the Seven Ages producer as executive costume designer for this production. Known for her expertise in costume design and her commitment to nurturing emerging talent, Chen recognized Soderberg's exceptional skills during her time as a student at UMass. Soderberg showed a passion for theater and a dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail in the field of costume and wig design. Under Chen's mentorship, Soderberg honed her talents and developed a keen understanding of the intricacies of theatrical production.

It was through Chen's network that Soderberg's talents came to the attention of Seven Ages, LTD, a leading theater company known for its innovative productions. When Seven Ages embarked on the ambitious production of Mozart, a musical extravaganza celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary composer, the company hired Soderberg as executive wig designer.

For Soderberg, the opportunity to work on Mozart was a chance to apply her skills on an international stage and collaborate with some of the industry's most talented artists. Drawing inspiration from Mozart's era and the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, Soderberg successfully created array of wigs that captured the essence of the characters and transported audiences to 18th-century Vienna. Soderberg was also responsible for sourcing materials and managing a team of artisans.

The culmination of Soderberg's efforts was evident on opening night, as Mozart opened to rave reviews and standing ovations. Audiences were captivated by the spectacle unfolding before them—the lavish costumes, the elaborate sets, and, of course, the exquisite wigs that adorned the performers. For Soderberg, seeing her creations come to life on stage was a moment of immense pride and fulfillment.

As Soderberg reflected on her journey from UMass to executive wig design for Mozart, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities that have shaped her career and for the mentors like Chen who have believed in her every step of the way.
