The UMass Amherst Rising Researcher program, which celebrates undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional research skills, intellectual curiosity, and interdisciplinary creativity, has announced its Spring 2025 award recipients. This semester's honorees, including those working in fields beyond the traditional science laboratory, exemplify the transformative potential of undergraduate research. Their diverse projects, ranging from the development of life-saving drugs to impactful work in theater performance, journalism, and education, highlighting how the power of student-led exploration can produce meaningful change. Among these scholars is Lindsay Forauer ‘25, a Theater and Linguistics double major with the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Her discovery uses linguistics and theater research in tandem to inform her work as a dialect coach to actors performing in theater at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
