Michelle Hendrick has directed Bessie and Ma, Dido and Aeneas, Suor Angelica, Albert Herring, Il barbiere di seviglia, L’enfant et les sortileges, Noyye’s Fludde, L’elisir d’amore, Hansel and Gretel, Die Fledermaus, HMS Pinafore, Le nozze di Figaro, Suor Angelica, Le marriage aux lanternes, Cendrillon, Der Schauspeildirektor, Bastien und Bastienne, A Hand of Bridge, The Old Maid and the Thief, Trouble in Tahiti, The Rape of Lucretia, Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Telephone, Les bavards and several new ten-minute operas for Hartford Opera Theater, The University of Connecticut, and Intermezzo Opera Festival. She was the founding Artistic Director of Hartford Opera Theater, an Associate in Opera at the Hartt School and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Trinity College and stage director for UCONN Opera Theatre. Directing credits at Trinity include The Vagina Monologues, Eurydice and Romeo and Juliet. Her professional work as an actor includes roles in Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, The Laramie Project, Othello, Beauty and the Beast, Arcadia, As You Like It, The Nutcracker, The Threepenny Opera, Cymbeline, A Little Night Music, and Eracism with Playmakers Repertory Company, Hartford Stage, Theaterworks and the KO Festival among others.
