Increasing focus on interconnected social, environmental, and economic challenges is spurring a growing demand for sustainability professionals. Here at UMass Amherst, the MS in Sustainability Science (MS3) is training the next generation of interdisciplinary problem solvers to be leaders in advancing this transition.
By preparing students with integrated systems-based approaches, cross-disciplinary foundations, specialized expertise, and applied training, our graduates are ready for sustainability-focused careers in industry, academia, government, and the non-profit sector.
As one of the field’s premiere master's programs, the Sustainability Science MS attracts students from around the globe and from wide ranging academic backgrounds, including: natural sciences, public policy, economics, business, and communications. The program caters to the needs of our diverse students through a rigorous and exciting cross-disciplinary approach.
In September 2019, MS3 has graduated 95 students from the program!
