A Bicycle Friendly University

In 2022, UMass Amherst received Bicycle Friendly University Bronze level designation from the League of American Bicyclists.  From Valley Bike and a Bike Commute Program to student led initiatives such as the Bike Co-Op and the SGA Bike Rental Program, our campus is pedaling towards sustainability.

Valley Bike

Valley Bike, the electric, pedal-assist bike share network, servicing the residents and visitors of the Pioneer Valley relaunched on August 12, 2024.  Pay as you ride, monthly, and other membership options available.

UMass has 5 stations on campus: Southwest Station, Haigis Mall Station, Knowlton Station, Sylvan Residential Area Station, and ILC Station.

UMass Five Bicycle Loan Program

Get fit. Get mobile. Get the bicycle of your dreams without breaking the bank. UMassFive, which has a branch on campus in the Campus Center, supports alternative modes of transportation as part of their Energy & Fuel Conservation loan program, including pedal bicycles.  APR's start at 3.9% for standard bikes and 0% for Quadrini e-bikes!
