As a SCD Major, I've investigated and studied various areas on the UMass Campus. After seeing the recent efforts to revitalize Hampden DC, I would like to start my Sustainability Fellowship journey there, and work alongside staff to reinvigorate that space. Another reason I want to focus on Hampden is the recent addition of the brick & mortar home for New2U. As a SCD major, one aspect of community development that I find essential is circularity, and New2U is going to bring a new definition of circularity to the UMass Campus, and it is one that I would love to assist. I have a lot of experience with second hand reselling and storefront management, so I want to put a lot of my attention on the New2U program and how it is a big part of reinvigorating Hampden DC.
