Kelly Gray
Assistant Provost for Student Success Initiatives & University Innovation Alliance Fellow
Kelly Gray is the Assistant Provost for Student Success Initiatives and the University Innovation Alliance Fellow. In her two decades at UMass Amherst, she has been actively involved in cross-campus collaborations, including academic advising, support for undeclared students, prospective students and family onboarding, and early alert and retention interventions. She has worked with numerous student populations, including first-generation, transfer, low-income, student veterans, and international students. She has served as a member of the Undergraduate Deans’ Council and the Faculty Senate’s Student Affairs and University Life Council. Her campus experience extends to previous oversight of the CARE Team and Dean of Students Office Case Managers, distribution of student emergency funding, and serving on the campus on-call rotation.
Throughout her career, Kelly has held positions in both student affairs and academic affairs, valuing opportunities to think holistically about undergraduate student success. Additionally, she has taught a range of courses in the UMass Amherst Higher Education graduate program and the undergraduate First-Year Seminar program. Dr. Gray has a B.S. in Health Administration from Quinnipiac University and completed her M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
