Let’s Talk About Job Interviews
Interviewing is how organizations decide whether or not you’ll be a good fit. Preparation is key, whether the interview is conducted by phone, video, or in-person. You should research the organization and fully understand the job description before any interview.
When interviewing, make sure to highlight your knowledge and professional skills by describing experiences you have gained from class projects, extracurricular activities, sports, volunteering, or part-time jobs. Reflecting on your knowledge and skills before an interview (and writing them down) can help you articulate them.
We have great resources to help you prepare for interviews, including the Big Interview resource, created just for UMass students.
