Adam Ortiz
Director of Student Success Outreach
Adam Ortiz is the Director of Student Success Outreach at UMass Amherst. His work centers on designing initiatives that empower first-generation students, transfer students, and those navigating financial instability. Currently, Adam is a PhD student in Higher Education, where he researching the intersection of artificial intelligence and the "hidden curriculum"—specifically how first-gen students leverage AI to decode the unwritten rules of the university. Adam holds an M.A. in English from Wheaton College (MA) and an M.Ed. from the University of Vermont. When he isn't in the office, Adam is likely traveling, getting lost in a book, or perfecting some new recipe in the kitchen.
