FYS: Public Health and Health Sciences
The First-Year Seminars in SPHHS support your transition to college and introduce you to a topic in public health and health sciences. The first six weeks provide foundational skills for students to be successful and thrive at UMass. The last seven weeks will focus on exploring a topic of interest in the field of public health and health sciences. SPHHS will also offer a seminar for exploratory track students to help identify strengths, career interests, and ultimately declare a major. As a whole, these FYS sections seek to expand engagement with communities inside and outside of UMass; assist with successfully transitioning to college, and to promote social justice and health equity.
