A Residential Academic Program (or "RAP") is a community of students who live together in a designated residence hall and follow a similar course of study. Students usually choose a RAP based on their major, an interest in the course subject, and/or a preferred residence hall. RAPs vary by structure, and some RAPs are reserved for students who meet certain eligibility criteria.
- In the fall, students who choose to participate in a RAP Program will live together in the same residence hall AND enroll in at least one RAP course together
- In the spring, first-year students have an opportunity to enroll in a General Education course sponsored by the RAP office, called a RAP course
- ALL RAP courses enroll 30 or fewer students and address the same set of goals
Students in a RAP will take a specific FYS associated with that RAP.
