December, 2014

Dear Students,

It's hard to believe the fall semester is coming to an end!

While everyone works on projects, papers and exams this month, our second semester seniors are preparing for another important undertaking – graduation! We congratulate each of you on your achievements, thank you for your contributions to the campus community and encourage you to stay connected.

To all our students, we wish each of you the best of luck in your end-of-semester efforts. Read on for important end-of-semester schedules and for information about available resources, should you need support over the next couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
The Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Campus Life

Resources

Library hours
Chances are you'll be spending quite a bit of time in the library and Learning Commons in the coming days. Before you head out, check the library's website for current operating hours.

Learning Resource Center
In need of a tutor or supplemental instruction? Want to fine-tune your research skills for that final paper? Stop by the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the 10th floor of the library. Hours are posted on the center's home page; find information on research, time management, note-taking and more under the "study skills" tab.

Writing Center
Find the Writing Center in the Learning Commons, on the library's lower level. Staff members consult with you individually, in person or online, at any point in the writing process. The center gets busy; go online today to make an appointment.

Peer mentors in first-year residence halls
For first-year students, peer mentors and your hall’s Residential Academic Success Center means help is only a few steps away. Check in with your mentor for study tips, help with test-taking skills, academic referrals, stress relief suggestions and more!

Health and wellness
Taking good care of yourself is one of the most important things you can do, especially when things are stressful. University Health Services (UHS) provides comprehensive health and wellness services, including walk-in care, a pharmacy, X-Ray and lab services, eye care and more. Check the UHS website for hours and important information. Mental health services at the Center for Counseling and Psychological Health (CCPH) include therapy, crisis intervention, behavioral medicine, support groups and more.
