Center For Health Promotion (CHP)

The Center for Health Promotion supports student health and wellbeing through its programs and services. Connect with us at events throughout the semester and get involved with Peer Health Education, Not Ready for Bedtime Players, and the Student Wellbeing Advisory Board.

  • BASICS, the university's brief alcohol screening and intervention program for students;
  • The collegiate recovery community, bringing together people seeking recovery from alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictions;
  • AlcoholEdu, the interactive online alcohol and other drug course required for all first-year students;
  • Peer Health Educators, students who do health-related work including wellbeing sessions and Paws Program events);
  • The Not Ready for Bedtime Players, our peer sexuality education troupe; and
  • The Student Wellbeing Advisory Board (SWAB), students who work with campus stakeholders to address campus health and wellbeing and publish a Student’s Guide to University Health Services.
  • Opportunities to experience and practice meditation and mindfulness
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing course: Mental Health and Wellbeing course: A 45-minute online course that equips you with essential skills and information to navigate the stressors and emotional challenges of college life. Learn to practice self-care strategies, recognize when you or your peers are in distress, and take action to find additional support.
