Here for You is a mental health awareness and suicide prevention initiative launching in fall, 2026. UMass Amherst students, faculty, and staff are invited to take a training designed to promote connection, reduce stigma, and encourage help-seeking behaviors. Upon completion, you’ll receive a Here for You pin signaling that you are an approachable and knowledgeable campus resource, willing to engage in caring conversations and help someone take the next step toward support.
As a JED Campus, UMass is committed to promoting mental health, preventing suicide, supporting students in distress, and fostering a culture of wellbeing. The Here for You initiative advances these goals by increasing the visibility of trained helpers across campus, strengthening pathways to support, and creating a community where reaching out for help—and offering support to others—is recognized as a normal and valued part of campus life.
