Apply for Family Housing
Family Housing Occupancy License
University Village has limited vacancies available for move in during the Spring 2025 semester. Applications from families with dependent children will continue to be prioritized when determining who will be accepted. We are not accepting applications with an anticipated move in date on or after July 1, 2025.
To be eligible to live in Family Housing, you must be a fully matriculated UMass undergraduate or graduate student, single, married or in a domestic partnership and/or be living with dependent child(ren) and/or dependent relative(s). The Maximum Occupancy for all units is 4 people, per Town of Amherst Sanitary Code. Minor children are included in the maximum occupancy number.
Undergraduate students who are not married and who do not have dependent children are not eligible for Family Housing, as they are able to live in traditional undergraduate residence halls.
In addition, students must be eligible to reside in on-campus housing and are required to sign the Occupancy License in SPIRE under Housing > Room Selection > Occupancy License; Residential Life reserves the right to check student conduct records with the Dean of Students Office to determine eligibility to reside on campus.
Requests are welcome for Disability Accommodations and service or support Animals in Residence.
