The Stonewall Center offers a number of employment, volunteer, intern, and academic opportunities:
Graduate Assistant position
The Stonewall Center employs a graduate assistant for twenty hours a week to facilitate our LGBTQIA+ support group, conduct LGBTQIA+ allyship trainings, help develop LGBTQIA+ programming for the campus and community, and advise LGBTQIA+ students. Candidates must be an enrolled graduate student at UMass; have experience in LGBTQIA+ programming, anti-oppression workshop development and facilitation, and/or LGBTQIA+ student leadership development; have excellent writing and public speaking skills; and be knowledgeable about LGBTQIA+ issues and other areas of social justice and diversity. A student is typically hired in the spring for the following school year.
Student employee positions
Stonewall hires 5-7 student staff to organize LGBTQIA+ events, give allyship presentations for classes, and do administrative office work. To apply, please fill out the below application and return it, along with a resume, to the center. At this time, we are not hiring for 2020-21.

Volunteering
LGBTQIA+ students and allies can volunteer to help give presentations, plan and carry out events, maintain our library, develop web resources, assist callers and visitors, and publicize the center and its services.

Internships
Stonewall regularly has interns. We work with each student to design a work experience that will be educational, skill-enhancing, and fun.
Practicums, class projects, and other academic work
Whether informal or formal needs assessment, qualitative or quantitative inquiry, grassroots activism efforts, or assisting in the day-to-day outreach and engagement efforts of the center, many exciting opportunities are available for the interested, self-motivated, and creative student.
