Stockbridge School of Agriculture is a destination of choice for students around the nation and the world. However, we recognize that certain high schools have specialized programs and curricula closely aligned with the majors offered by Stockbridge.
For such high schools, Stockbridge extends this preferential offer: Stockbridge will award 3 college credits to graduates of relevant programs at these high schools who apply and are accepted to a bachelor degree program at Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst, per the details of the agreement.
This "Get 3 Free" offer, made possible by articulation agreements, operationalizes three goals of the Stockbridge School:
- Recognize and leverage the value of some students' existing education and experience in the agricultural and green industries (e.g. classes, 4H, FFA, and Envirothon clubs, employment, internships, and volunteer work)
- Promote a viable and repeatable pathway from agricultural, technical and vocational high schools, through Stockbridge, to employment in skilled careers
- Encourage first generation college students and students from under-represented groups, to take on the challenge of earning a career-focused college degree
