Description: In this seminar, Christopher Grallert, CEO of Green City Growers, a purpose-driven urban farming company based in Somerville, will discuss what it takes to transform city spaces into productive food gardens. We'll cover the challenges of providing farming services in urban environments, including high costs, tricky logistics, and seasonal constraints, and explain how our Farming as a Service (FaaS) model addresses these issues. We'll also take a closer look at some of our key partnerships to highlight how we are working toward building a more sustainable, resilient food system.
Bio: Christopher Grallert is the President and Partner of Green City Growers, a Massachusetts-based urban farming company and certified B Corporation that provides farming as a service to over 200 clients. With 25 years of global experience in business development across agriculture sectors, Chris specializes in sustainable farming, operations, and management, focusing on urban agriculture, CEA, and fresh produce.
There are still a few openings in Chris’s schedule. Please let me know if you would like to meet with him. For graduate students, there is also a lunch from 12:00-1:00. If you are interested in attending, please let me know your dietary restrictions before 12 pm on 10/17.
