This spring, the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) highlights the wide range of wonderful teaching approaches on our campus. Come join us on Wednesday, March 27th from 3 to 5 PM for a unique, lively, and inspiring “Teaching Showcase” event. Have a nibble, have a drink, talk about teaching, and hear what your colleagues across campus are doing to engage students, foster wellbeing, teach inclusively, and more. The event will include:
- Recognition of recent teaching award winners and other teaching accomplishments
- Time to chat with colleagues
- Tasty morsels
- A student band
- Archival photographs of classrooms, thanks to the Robert S. Cox Special Collections & University Archives Research Center
At the center of the event will be a “Sharing Showcase,” in which faculty from across campus share their teaching approaches. Participants will include:
- Daniel Albert, Music & Dance, on sense of belonging
- Sarah Berquist, Stockbridge School of Agriculture, on student wellbeing
- Nathan Chan, Resource Economics, on engaging students
- Jaime Davila, Computer Science, on passion in large class settings
- Lisa Modenos, University Without Walls, on supporting first-gen students
- Caralyn Zehnder, Biology, on grading for growth and anti-racist teaching
We promise an afternoon of delights, camaraderie, and surprises. Mark your calendars, get excited, and register here.
