In person in Paige 202
On behalf of the SSA BRiDGE and seminar committees, we are excited to announce our upcoming BRiDGE scholar, Dr. Christopher Gillespie, the CEO and Senior Lead Consultant at Gillespie Consulting, LLC and a Food Supply Chain Impact Fellow with the Federation of American Scientists (FAS). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Crop and Soil Science from Michigan State University, an M.S. in Plant and Soil Science from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology (Soil Ecology and Biogeochemistry) from North Carolina State University.
Dr. Gillespie will present a BRiDGE2Science talk as part of the SSA Seminar Series on Monday, April 28th at 3:30 PM in Paige Laboratory room 202.
Additionally, he will present a BRiDGE2Impacts talk on Tuesday, April 29th at 11:30 AM, also in Paige Laboratory room 202.
Dr. Gillespie has availability during his visit to UMass to meet with both faculty and graduate students. As an early career scientist whose expertise spans academia, policy, and industry - including fellowships with the Federation of American Scientists, the National Science Foundation, and the Center for Environmental Farming Systems - he can offer valuable insights for graduate students exploring their next steps. Faculty may also find his cross-sector experience particularly relevant for interdisciplinary research and collaboration. Pleaseconsider booking a timeslot (30-minute or 1 hour) to meet with Dr. Gillespie using this google sheet.
